Systems Approach for Better Education Results (SABER) is a World Bank initiative that helps countries examine and strengthen the performance of different aspects of their education systems in order to achieve learning for all. SABER-Student Assessment is a component of this program that provides questionnaires and rubrics (referred to as a ‘toolkit’) for collecting and evaluating data on four types of assessment activities in an education system: classroom assessment, examinations, national large-scale assessment, and international large-scale assessment. The SABER-Student Assessment toolkit was developed with the support of the first READ Trust Fund program, and has been applied in more than 40 countries around the world.
