Seminars on the Teacher Professional Development Program Held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic

In-person seminars on the teacher professional development program based on the use of the SAM (Student Achievement Monitoring) diagnostic tool were successfully conducted in November in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The three-day course brought together 40 mathematics and Russian language teachers from various regions of the country. The event was organized in collaboration with the Department for Quality Development in Education under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the field of education.

Prior to the seminars, schools in Kyrgyzstan conducted testing using the diagnostic tool for monitoring teaching practices in primary schools. Specialists from the Department for Quality Development in Education were trained by the developers of the tool, gaining expertise in its application and acting as experts in evaluating assignments completed by teachers during the testing process. This preparation ensured a high level of competence among national specialists and the objectivity of the analysis.

The seminars in Bishkek included lectures, practical sessions, and master classes. Participants explored modern approaches to organizing the educational process, mastering key teaching actions, and integrating formative assessment into teaching practice. Special attention was given to how diagnostic results can help identify educational gaps and plan targeted pedagogical interventions.

Collaboration with the Department for Quality Development in Education played a critical role in implementing the program. The involvement of local specialists in the diagnostic process and teacher training demonstrated the importance of engaging national structures in promoting Russian methodologies and expertise. This approach contributes to the sustainable implementation of innovative educational technologies and strengthens the professional community of educators.

At the conclusion of the seminars, participants praised their high educational value and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to acquire new tools and approaches. Such initiatives enhance the quality of education in Kyrgyzstan and underscore the significance of Russia’s contribution to the development of educational systems across the CIS countries.
