On November 14 and 15, as part of the EAOKO conference, the Open Institute “Developing Education”, with the support of Center for International Cooperation in Education Development (CICED), held a workshop for teachers devoted to the development of test items according to SAM (Students ’Achievement Monitoring) methodology. In the opening part of the educational module, attendees got to know the basics of SAM methodology and studied the technology of making up tasks of different difficulty levels.
Before starting a practical part of the workshop, Alexei Vorontsov, the course leader, has set each teacher a task to developing a couple of test blocks that include items of all difficulty levels. Then, during a joint discussion, participants compiled and finalized their tasks, brought their form and content in accordance with the SAM criteria.
The results of the work done were summed up as part of the session organized by CICED on the second day of the conference. The training participants presented and commented on the complete tasks, focusing on main difficulties that arose in course of development.
